You may prefer to do your own research and seek out a hotel to your personal tastes, in which case tripadvisor is probably the place to be. The Showroom is very very central in Sheffield (directly over the road from the Mainline Station).

From personal experience, we can vouch for the Central Premier Inn, (Young Street, Sheffield, S1 4UP ) which is a new-ish building and about as high end as these Travelodge-type places get. Also fairly near by is the Ibis (Shude Hill, Sheffeld S1 2AR), which is down the bottom end of the city centre.
